Target Dress

I found this little beauty at Target for $3.48. Yes, you read that correctly-- three dollars and forty-eight cents!!! The only catch is that it was only left in XL. No big deal, I knew I could make it work for $3.48!

I took in the sides of the top and the waistband and graded that into the skirt. While I was at it, I used some old navy polka-dot scraps to add in pockets! (Please excuse the stray threads in the picture below.) Even though it was an XL, it's still a really short dress, so I may go back and somehow try to add some length.

Regardless, this will now make a great comfy dress to wear around on the weekends. Huzzah!

  1. Oh that is so cool! I can't tell you how many times I've wanted something SOOO badly that was only left in too big sizes. I've only recently learned to sew so no longer is that going to be a problem!! I love those types of dresses too by the way, very cute.

  2. Ahhhh... sigh!! I love it, esp the pockets. Skirts should have more pockets.

  3. love the pockets a ton. I always add them if the seam and zipper aren't on the sides. If not it's so nice to put your hands somewhere..and the fabric for your pockets is so fun.

ps. I was looking at your blog list, have you read grosgrain. I love love this girl. She's super talented.
