Emerald Cotton Gauze Dress

I've finished some cruise/resort-wear-- Simplicity 2406, a Cynthia Rowley pattern. I started this a couple of weekends ago, but just finished it last night. I picked an emerald cotton gauze because I thought the fabric would be really cool for the hot AZ summers. Overall, the gauze was great to work with! It was crinkly, so instead of ironing, I just spritzed sections with water and let them dry the way I wanted them.

Here's a view from the front... Yes, it has pockets!

Back view--- I liked this pattern because it had an open slit down the back... I didn't think about the fact that the slit meant that I can't wear a bra with it... So I think I'll be wearing a tank top underneath this dress.
This is more of an artsy shot. I like that it shows off the cut-outs in the shoulders. (Shoulders are hot right now! ha ha)
I can't wait to wear this dress on a vacation, or when I want to dress it up on a hot night out on the town!

The pockets will come in handy especially on your hot night out on the town. Great summer dress!

  4. See if you can slipstitch up the back and still get it on over your head. Since it is also being made on the pattern with a zipper in the back I bet that would work. It looks great still.
