Luxurious Lounge Top- Cation Dolman Top

Hello daaaah-ling! What do you think of my gorgeous new top? Don't let the velour fabric fool you, this isn't a fancy-pants going-out top, it's really a big, slouchy, comfy, glammed-up T-shirt!

It's amazing what fabric choice can do. This is made from some stretch velour, and as a result, everyone thinks it's fancy.

This top was cut quite a long time ago. My original plan was to have it done by Christmas, so it could be my Christmas top, but that didn't happen. It rather worked out that I didn't get it done until now, since Pantone has declared that Emerald is the color of 2013. Looks like I am right on trend!

Sewing Notes- I used Cation's free Dolman Sleeve Top pattern. (Thanks!) I cut it out so long ago, that I can't exactly remember what changes I made, but I made the sleeves significantly longer, and I think I also made the hem band and sleeve bands wider as well. Also, I know my neckline is lower than the pattern. I didn't like how my initial attempt at finishing the neckline went, so I cut it off and tried again. As a result, my neckline is rather large, but that doesn't bother me. It just means that I can pull my shoulder out for a sassy look!

If you're looking for a comfy top that's a breeze to sew, Cation's pattern fits the bill. I know I'll be wearing this top a lot through Arizona's winter.
