I've got something a little bit different and fun to announce today! The S.O.S Challenge--Stashbusting Our Sister fabric. Back in January, when I posted about my fabric stash for the Stashbusting Sewalong, I was contacted by the fabulous Andrea from Four Square Walls. She recognized one of the fabrics in my stash! It turns out, she has the same fabric in her stash! We emailed back and forth, and decided to challenge ourselves to make something with this fabric. Thus the S.O.S. Challenge was born!
I'm quite excited as I love Andrea's blog and think everything she makes is absolutely fantastic! (Have you seen her Flamingo dress?!? What about her Cambie?!? LOVE!) Can't wait to see what she makes! Keep an eye out in early April when we will reveal our makes!
Here's the fabric:
It's a beautiful navy and white nautical flag print knit from Girl Charlee. I love the design, but the fabric has been languishing in both of our stashes... It's tough to figure out what to do with it. It's quite thick, but still has a lot of stretch. It seems too thick to be a top.... But I'm not sure it's destined to be a skirt either... What to make? Any suggestions?
I originally bought this fabric to make a Sewaholic Cambie out of. But once it arrived, I was worried about using a fabric with a lot of stretch for the Cambie, especially since others have posted that the sweetheart neckline sometimes has a tendency to droop already...
Spoiler alert- In a flash of inspiration, I cut out part of the fabric over the weekend. But just part of something... I still have enough fabric to back out and make something else, if it doesn't work out. Curious to hear your suggestions!
